Our dear guests, please note that it’s important to clarify the availability of the vacant motorcycle before coming to our office. You can do it by phone or via messengers. Before renting a motorbike make sure you read the sections Lease terms (here it is written what is included in the price), Tips for riders, Rules and fines. Also, don’t forget to check Cat Motors rules since we have certain restrictions for potential renters. We do not hold a passport as a deposit. It’s illegal in Thailand. You need to pay only a refundable deposit (THB, USD, EUR).
How much does it cost to rent a motorbike in Chiang Mai?
Renting a good-quality 125cc motorbike in Chiang Mai with insurance will cost between 250-350 Baht (7-11 USD) per day. Also, the price depends on the renting period. For example, if you rent a motorbike for 1 day, the daily rate will always be higher than if you rent for 1 month. A motorcycle, which costs 300 baht per one day, will cost you only 1200 baht per week, or only 3000 baht per month.
Please remember, the longer the term of the rental period, the lower the rental price per day.
Among other things, we have season discounts depending on the number of motorbikes in the parking lot. That’s the reason as to why the same motorcycle can cost different prices during a year, depending on the rental availability.
We have a special bounty program for travel bloggers that provides them with an opportunity to rent a motorbike for one or two week free of charge. If you have a travel blog, you can contact us by email for further information.
Please note that we do not rent motorbikes to travelers without riding experience. We do not. No jokes. No, no, and once again, no.
Motorcycle is a high-risk vehicle, and your family members expect you to come home safe and sound. So, if you can’t ride a motorbike, you better use Uber or a taxi.
Possibly, it would save your life, even if you are now reading these lines and think, “How dare they teach me what to do?!”
Please, understand that we have been engaged in the rental business for years, and we have witnessed so much. We speak with the owners of other rentals in our town every day. Through the window of our apartment, we see how ambulances deliver motorbike crash victims to the hospital across the street. Just take our word for it – “If you do not have any motorbike riding experience, better use Uber or a taxi because your parents expect you to come home safe and sound.”
If you have come to Chiang Mai for a long time, but you have never ridden a motorbike and you want to learn, you should read the section Training.
If you don’t know what motorbike to choose, you should check our advice’s on the choice of motorbike.
All our bikes are in the good technical condition regardless of mileage. The brakes work, the engine is fully functional, the bikes are good looking and they don’t have a bald tire and other “surprises”, plus we have different useful stuff that you would never find in other rentals of Chiang Mai. Read more about what else is a part of motorcycle rental agreement in the Lease terms section.
In addition to that, when you rent motorcycles from our company, we provide you with a medical insurance. Also, you can always use our help in receiving the insurance payment in case of an accident. For more information, please read the Insurance terms section.
We spend about 20-30% of the rental cost for motorcycles maintenance. All the prices below are fair for a fully operational motorcycle timely maintained in the Yamaha or Honda dealerships. Minor operations are carried out by our professional mechanics.
